Base Unit

How do I setup my system with my landline?

  1. Unplug cord from the back of your answering machine and plug it into the jack marked WALL JACK on the back of the base unit
  2. Using telephone cord provided in box, connect your answering machine to the base unit’s PHONE port
  3. Plug the base unit into an outlet not powered by a light switch
  4. On the bottom of your base unit, slide On/Off Switch into ON position

How do I power my unit ON/OFF?

Turn the unit on its side. The ON/OFF switch can be located in the opening under the wires. The unit can be powered on or off by sliding the switch downwards.

Do I need to charge my system?

No. Your base unit receives its power from the electrical outlet.

How long does my battery last?

Your base unit’s backup battery will last up to approximately 36 hours.

How do I test my unit?

Simply call our auto testing line at 1-800-332-8570 and follow the prompts.

What do the status lights mean?

Status Light Chart

Light Status What it means What to do
GREEN light blinking fast Unit is running on backup battery Check power source to make sure it’s plugged into a wall outlet not controlled by a light switch
GREEN light blinking slowly Back up battery is recharging Nothing. Let your unit battery recharge.  This could take up to 2 days to fully charge and light to turn steady

YELLOW light blinking Low battery in Wrist or Pendant Neck Help Button or Wall Button Call 800-906-0872 to replace your Help Button

BASE UNIT SENDING Light

Light Status What it means What to do
Light OFF System is normal Nothing
Flashing RED BASE UNIT is placing a call to the center.  This could be due to an automated test, or if you push your help button for emergency help. Nothing

Does my unit come with a volume control?

No, this unit does not have a volume control.

Will my base unit still work if I change my phone service provider?

Please call our Customer Care Department at 1-800-906-0872 prior to changing phone service for more information and to update your account.
